Aerial Dance Foundations is friendly to all levels. New students will begin their aerial journey here for an introduction to aerial dance, while existing clients are encouraged to attend for refining details and increasing fluidity. Students will be introduced to balance, alignment, mounting and basic posturing while incorporating short sequences and choreography. This class provides students the opportunity to sample 4 aerial apparatuses: Lyra (aerial hoop) Aerial Silks Corde lisse (aerial rope) Aerial Sling.

(4 Week Course) Our Aerial Dance Series meets weekly for four consecutive weeks. Students will learn a comprehensive combination of movements and transitions to build a short routine. The apparatus will rotate monthly from one of the items listed below based on client interest.

There are so many different types of aerial dance apparatuses in performers typically have custom pieces of art make specifically for their act. The four most common apparatuses introduced to beginners and used in group class settings are listed below. They each have their own unique characteristics and most aerial dancers gravitate to one apparatus as their favorite.
aerial Sling
An aerial sling is comprised of specialized fabric used for modern dance. This apparatus is rigged with the tails tied at the top to create a loop for the student to dance in and around.
lyra / Aerial Hoop
Lyra, also known as an Aerial hoop, is a suspended metal ring used to create beautiful shapes, transitions, and aerial movement. We use this versatile apparatus to build strength, gain flexibility, and develop fluid combinations for our students. We provide three levels to ensure progression and safe skill development.
aerial Silks
Aerial silks are suspended specialized fabric used to perform aerial dance and acrobatic movement. This beautiful apparatus is both elegant and effective for meeting many fitness goals. We feature series classes in four week courses for students who wish to progress past the introductory level.
Corde lisse / aerial rope
A corde lisse, which translates to "smooth rope" in French, is a type of aerial equipment used in circus arts and aerial performance. It consists of a vertical rope that is typically made from soft cotton, allowing it to be strong yet pliable to use for climbs, acrobatic tricks, and poses.
